The 44th Annual Athletic Meet of Choudwar College, Choudwar and Choudwar H.S. School, Choudwar was successfully organized during the academic session 2025–26 with great enthusiasm, discipline, and sportsmanship.
The Athletic Meet was conducted in two phases:
Indoor Events – 13th December 2025
The indoor events were held on 13.12.2025 within the college premises. Various competitions such as chess, carrom, volleyball,  Badminton and other indoor games were organized. A large number of students from both +2 & +3 actively participated, displaying their skills, focus, and competitive spirit. The events were conducted smoothly under the supervision of teachers and the sports committee, ensuring fair play and proper discipline.
Track and Field Events – 16th & 17th December 2025
The track and field events were held from 16.12.2025 to 17.12.2025 at the college playground. The day began with the march past by students different wings, followed by the flag hoisting and the oath-taking ceremony, emphasizing sportsmanship and integrity.
Various athletic events such as 100m, 200m, 400m,800m, 1500m races, long jump, high jump, shot put, discus throw, and other field events were conducted. The participants showed remarkable energy, determination, and athletic excellence. The spectators enthusiastically cheered the athletes, creating a lively and motivating atmosphere.

The Closing Ceremony of the Annual Athletic Meet 2025–26 of Choudwar College, Choudwar was held successfully on 17 November 2025 at 2.30 p.m. at the College Playground. The ceremony witnessed the gracious presence of teaching and non-teaching staff, students, and participants, creating a vibrant, disciplined, and celebratory atmosphere.
The Chief Guest, Sri Pradipta Kumar Sahoo, Principal, SSD College of Science and Technology, Bali, and the Chief Speaker and Guest of Honour, Smt. Pramila Prava Minz, were warmly received and felicitated with bouquets and badges as a mark of respect. The Principal of Choudwar College, Smt. Rashmi Routray, formally introduced the Chief Guest, highlighting his academic leadership and contributions to higher education.

In his address, the Chief Guest emphasized the pivotal role of sports in nurturing discipline, teamwork, leadership qualities, self-confidence, and a spirit of healthy competition among students. The Chief Speaker, in her inspiring address, underscored the importance of active participation in sports for holistic personality development. Sharing her personal journey, she narrated how her achievements in sports significantly contributed to her success and eventual career as an Inspector of Police, leaving a lasting impression on the students.

The Prize Distribution Ceremony was the highlight of the programme. Medals, trophies, and certificates were awarded to the winners and participants of various athletic events in recognition of their performance, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Mementos were also presented to the distinguished guests as a token of gratitude.

The successful organization of the event was made possible through the wholehearted support and cooperation of the committee members, namely Smt. Sarita Mishra, Lecturer in Political Science; Sri Sangram Behari, Lecturer in Political Science; Dr. Anupama Tripathi, Lecturer in Philosophy; Sri Rinku Kishan, Lecturer in Odia; Dr. Deepak Kumar Behera, Lecturer in Odia and Sri Chittaranjan Das, Demonstrator in Botany, under the able guidance of Sri Laxman Karan, Associate Vice-President and Lecturer in Commerce.

Chandan Rout and Padmini Mohanty in +3 and Rupam Sahoo and Tapaswini Behera stood Champions in the 44th Annual Sports Meet 2025–26, earning appreciation and applause from all present.

The programme concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks proposed by Sri Laxman Karan, AVP and Lecturer in Commerce. The gathering then stood in solemn respect for the National Anthem, followed by the Flag Down Ceremony, marking the official closure of the Annual Athletic Meet.
The ceremony ended on a note of pride, motivation, and renewed enthusiasm, reinforcing the importance of sports and extracurricular activities in shaping well-rounded individuals.

Sports & Games

In a scientific and technological Civilization we needs person who are physically fit, mentally alert and emotionally stable .So education should be holistic in directed instilling physical, mental, emotional, social ,spiritual and esthetic qualities. The physical education contributes not only to physical fitness but also to Physical efficiency, mental alertness and development of various qualities necessary for a balanced human being. Physical education is a part of general education. The aim of physical education is to develop the total development of body including the total development of personality.

Keeping that in view the athletic Club of CHOUDWAR COLLEGE was formed in 1978. Since its Inception, it has been relentlessly undertaking a lot of activities to achieve its goals year after year.

The athletic club consists of Vice President from the teaching staff, physical education teacher and selected students representatives. Each session athletic club organizes different major game events like Football, Volleyball, Hand ball, Cricket and Annual Athletic Meets is regularly held in the month of December or January every year. Large number of both boys and girls participate in the running events like 100mts, 200mts, 400mts, 800 mts, 1500 mts race and throwing events like shot put, discus, javelin and jumping events like High jump & long jump. It is not only conducts the Annual Athletic Meets but also provides ample opportunity to the athletes for various Inter College, Inter University, state and national Level Competitions. All its programs are always directed toward the needs of the students, their attitude, and abilities and also related to their physical mental social and emotional characteristics.
